It is occasionally asked, “how do you get the ladies to take their shirts off?”
My answer is this: no idea. It’s not that I “get” anyone to do anything. Sometimes the women I shoot suggest it. Sometimes it occurs to me, having seen a woman nude in another picture, that I could do better. It’s still not a situation I find myself entirely comfortable in, I still remember the one shoot I did where, once the woman had taken her clothes off, I found myself so stunned by how beautiful she was, all the resulting medium format photos were slightly blurry.
Oh sure, it was probably the fact we were working in low light, but it’s also entirely possible I had acquired Googly Eyes!!!!!
Which is shameful.
Morgan here, she had sent me a bunch of photos prior to the shoot, several of which implied nudity. And so, I’d come up with an idea or two in that vein, which I suggested to her when we were shooting.
And she was more than game. My fellow photographer, Laura, was there as well, we were all getting along, I’ve shot Morgan several times to great success, it was, I hope, a very comfortable situation.
And still, High Anxiety!!!!
But I’m happy with the shots, proud of how they came out, so cheers!
