This was totally Alie’s idea.  I was all ready to go back into her apartment, shoot some back-lit shots on the balcony, but she looked around, trying to figure out some more ways to shoot her yard.
And maybe it’s because I keep my shoots fairly loose, or maybe it’s because I rarely have a very strong idea about what I want to shoot until I’m in the moment, but I tend not to mind when someone has their own ideas they want to try out during a shoot.
Actually, it’s probably because some of my current favorites are the result of the model coming up with something they want to try.  If it works, work it.
heh, oh man, that’s a 12 step program thing (I spent a lot of time from the ages of 8-12 in twelve-step meetings, had family going so I was the kid in the back, playing with toys, only partially understanding what was going on), and I only just wrote it out for the first time.  It sounds so 80s.  Probably because it is. WORK IT. oh man, it’s too early.
So. Alie’s idea.  And damned if I don’t love the hell out of this shot.  Good idea, Alie!
p.s. anybody else get a “Bruce Banner right as he’s about to turn into the Hulk” vibe? I mean that in the best possible way, of course.
