556am. already getting back into the habit of waking up to run. that’s good. soon I’ll be running the length of los angeles, meeting strange folk, putting right what once went wrong, hoping my next run…will be the run home.
or maybe i’m just up so early i’m only half-sane.
i’d thought about making it a new year’s resolution to run, but i’ve got some kind of vague, poorly-defined resentment against the very idea of resolutions, so i just up and started again. forgot how good it feels to exercise, get this old meat machine really working hard.
also forgot the pang of joy i get saying hi to the old russian guy i see doing his morning walk. we’ve never said more than six words to each other, but there’s a camaraderie there, and one day i’m gonna buy that guy a coffee, or save his life, something like that.
If you’re up, or maybe if you’re about to make a positive change in your life (ain’t that just the hippie in me sneaking out), then this shot of Amanda, one of my favorite of her from the Dexter shoot, is for you.
