428pm.  Donuts for breakfast, burgers for lunch! This is the day I dreamed about as a child.
I did not dream about hanging out with Del, because I didn’t know him when I was a kid.  That would’ve been spooky, I probably would’ve foreseen all kinds of madness, been that creepy kid what tells the other kids their grim futures.
“You’re going to be…an accountant!!!”
“You will marry an ugly woman!!!!”
Fortunately, I wasn’t that kid.  And fortunately, I met Del anyway!! Such a good guy, with a cool new job. I’d be jealous if my life didn’t consist of eating delicious food and taking photos of folks like him and Kate, this morning’s subject.
Also, I’m trying to stop using the word Model, use Subject instead.  Maybe that’s pretentious, but I just don’t think model applies to folks who let me take their picture.  Maybe sometimes, sure, if we’re on a mountain, and they’ve got on make-up and a fancy outfit.  But you come over to my place, we talk for an hour, then I take pictures of you? Model feels too reductive.
AND SO, here’s to an afternoon spent digesting and going through today’s photos.  If your Saturday’s been swell, this shot of Del is for you.
