Lou O’ Bedlam Fun Fact #441: I am an Eagles fan. I have no idea how, but back when I was around 13, and only had six CDs to my name, one of them just happened to be The Eagles Greatest Hits, Vol. 2.
Hotel California, Life in the Fast Lane, this song, all on there. I would actually wonder, often, what was on Vol. 1, if all their well-known songs were on this disc.
6 CDs, man. By the time I was 17, that number had jumped to maybe 20.
CDs were expensive! PEOPLE USED TO BUY CDs.
And thus began a life-long habit of listening to an album again and again and again and again until I was tired of it. Because once upon a time, I HAD NO CHOICE.
AND SO, I like the Eagles. This cover’s pretty fresh. Yeah, it’s all synthed-out, but it still captures that laid back style the Eagles did so well.
