Kiss Me Deadly - Generation X
I’ve been searching for this song for years, ever since I heard it at the end of SLC Punk, a surprisingly good movie featuring an unusually good performance from an actor, Matthew Lillard, who I usually can’t stand. He gives an understated and hilarious performance, and the film itself is both hilarious and spot on.
In any event, there’s a song at the end that I could never place, never find, even on the soundtrack. I’d started looking for this song a good five years ago, before the internet was the go-to place for “things I do not know.” I’d listened to every song on the soundtrack, and it just wasn’t there.
A few days ago I had the brainwave to just look for that bit of the film on Youtube (4:08 in), use my Shazam -enabled iPhone to source it.
And, turns out it WAS on the soundtrack. In the film, they’d started from a good minute into the song, and I’d always just listened to the first few seconds.
So, mission accomplished, I’m a dork, but still this gets chalked up as a Win.
Also, Billy Idol was in a PUNK BAND?!?!!??!?!
