Here She Comes - The Beach Boys

So after realizing I’d given the Beach Boys short shrift, I went and got their catalogue, determined to give it a thorough listen.  Came upon this gem in their early 70s work.

I think what surprises me is that I had no idea the group had actually grown, that their music had changed over the years.  I guess I’d always assumed that they had always just put out “surf” records.  But this track, and the album it’s from, as well as several of their other records, have a good amount of range, as all the members of the bands stretched as musicians, as Brian Wilson’s contributions waxed and waned.

Definitely, there’s a good deal of sub-par work, but there’s also songs like this that just hook ya, coming out of left field as they do.
