Blues from Down Here - TV on the Radio
With their new album coming out, I went back and listened to my two TV on the Radio albums, and they’re every bit as wacked out and fresh as I remember. Definitely one of the few bands that defy easy description, that straddle the art rock line but never fall into the “so art we make crap music” trap.
The first time I heard their last album, Return to Cookie Mountain, I wasn’t sure what to think, it was all so goddamn strange. But the more I listened, the more I heard. Heh, yeah. The more I began to hear how rich a musical tapestry they’d created. Listened to that album solamente for a good three weeks. Damn excited about the new one.
