531pm.

Friday, Saturday and today, all new folks to shoot.  This morning was Natasha, here. Haven’t shot a black subject in…jesus, years? Now two in a month. Can’t say as there’s any specific reason, or maybe it’s something to do with me growing up around white folks, dunno.

But she was an excellent model, definitely gonna use her again. Got herself a background in photography, which helped oil the wheels of conversation quite nicely.

The shoot was short, first shoots are funny for me, sometimes they’re short because I’m just not feeling it, sometimes they’re long because the conversation’s good, even if the photos are mediocre, and sometimes I’m just dialed in, know what I want to get from a particular shoot.  It’s always, good or bad, as much interview as shoot, seeing if this is someone I want to work with on any kind of regular basis.  Definitely found one today.

And yeah, this shot is overexposed, but the “correct” versions I just never recaptured quite the same expression, so here it is.
