From what I read, the leader of this band wrote this after his grandfather died, so them dark, sad feelings course through every song on the album.
It really crystalizes in this song, which is about three-fourths of the way in, starting slow and sensitive, then ramping up, getting all anthem-y, in a good way. It’s a short song, more than a little bit of a downer, but I dig it perhaps because of that.
