One thing we both wanted out of the shoot was a good shot of Barbara’s newest tattoo, a huge Memento Mori on her arm. I was a little taken aback when I saw it, just so large on her arm, so imposing. But I really like it, like how fearless it presents itself. I think a tattoo like this harkens back to a time, not too long ago, when a tattoo actually said something about its wearer. These days, everyone’s got a tattoo, but years back it was someone slightly outside of normal society.
I miss those days.
