Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd

Been listening to a lot of new music this week, but there’s always room for some stuff from back in the day.

Not sure how I feel about Pink Floyd, thought it was about time I gave them a thorough listen.   Of course, I went and listened to my favorites from their catalog first, and I think this song and Comfortably Numb are, until I go and listen to everything they recorded, my favorites. 

It’s just a sweet song.  And not “dude, that’s sweet!” but rather, there’s a gentle sincerity about it that I think is in short supply in rock songs these days. 

But it’s not sappy or obnoxious in its sentiment.  It’s a strong, simple song that is pleasantly affecting.
