Little Sister - Queens of the Stone Age

There was a time, between 2002 and 2004, when Queens of the Stone Age was my favorite band.  Just the right touches of rock, psych, metal, orchestration. Loved ‘em.  Got a whole shit ton of their live shows on mp3, saw ‘em whenever I could.

Then their line-up changed, they went in directions I didn’t particularly like, other bands began to get more of my attention.

When this song came out, I remember, the first time I heard it was at work, playing on the local rock station.  I was checking out the ambulance for the day.  I just stopped whatever it was I was doing, sat and listened, tried to soak it all in. New music from my favorite band.  There are few things as sweet.

To this day, I’ve still got just under a dozen of their shows in my iTunes, all their albums, b-sides, side projects.

And every once in awhile I’ll go back, hear a song that reminds me of the days when I’d blast their music while driving well over the speed limit, hurtling down the street in an ambulance, the wrong way, middle of rush hour.

I have had myself some good times.
