Iveta light test (via DarkDaze Photography)
Kevin’s gone all Super Pro, opening his own studio, with a crew and assistants, expensive lights, sets, backdrops, big money clients.
Yet, like any true photographer, the man hasn’t forgotten his roots, still pulls out a Polaroid to test things out, get some tangible, instant proof of life.
It is completely due to my personal biases that I prefer his Polaroid shots to the actual “this one’s for the client” shot. I like that the model’s face is a wee bit over-exposed, that the whole shot is a touch softer than the digital final, that there is a subtle suggestion that this shot was taken thirty years ago.
Gorgeously composed, brilliantly executed.
