Never given much thought or attention to collage work before, but Jill’s a friend, so I’ve been looking at her stuff for awhile, now.
This piece in particular I dig, the way the strips at the bottom, though physically above the blue paint, appear to be strips ripped away from the first layer, how the strips at the top look like sky peeled away to reveal a deeper sky.
I dunno about art, or abstract whodads, but this I dig this on an aesthetic level, and that’s good enough for me.
